Interfaith

The Westchester Jewish Conference is deeply involved in interfaith initiatives and collaborations with other Westchester faith-based organizations in order to foster understanding and respect among different faith communities and combat bigotry, extremism and violence.  Through open dialogue and initiatives with religious, lay and community leaders, the Westchester Jewish Conference represents the common concerns of the Westchester Jewish community to other ethnic and religious communities.

The Conference, in cooperation with the American Jewish Committee and the Westchester Board of Rabbis, is also proud to sponsor the Westchester Clergy Council, which  brings clergy from across faiths together for discussion, on a regular basis.  For more information, please contact Nancy Zaro at the Conference office (914-328-7001) or email at nancy@wjconference.org

The Interfaith efforts of the Conference are supported by a grant from UJA-Federation of New York.

Watchful Westchester

The Watchful Westchester security initiative was created several years ago to provide safety awareness to synagogues, Jewish schools and Jewish institutions and prepare our member organizations for emergencies and other safety-related issues.  Through on-going communications, workshops and seminars, the Westchester Jewish Conference makes protecting the Westchester Jewish community a top priority. We maintain close communication with the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) of New York as well as with the Westchester County Department of Counter-Terrorism.  For more information, please contact Elliot Forchheimer or Tina Landsberg at the Conference office (914-328-7001) or email at elliot@wjconference.org or tina@wjconference.org
